Your family’s information

The School Day extension reads your kids’ school sites inside your own Chrome and keeps what it finds in your Chrome. It never sends your kids’ schoolwork, grades or schedules to us or anyone else. This website uses analytics to learn what’s useful, and the forms email us what you type in them.
The School Day extension
What it reads. When you open it, the extension reads, read-only and using the sign-ins you already have: each student’s courses, assignments, turned-in work, lesson progress, grades, teacher comments, announcements, calendar events and unread message count from your school’s online learning site, and each student’s live class schedule from the learning-coach dashboard. It only reads sites you’ve allowed in Chrome.
Where it keeps things. In Chrome’s storage on your computer (chrome.storage.local): a short summary of each day, class schedules, grade readings, and the day each lesson was first seen finished. If “Sync across my computers” is on (the default), Chrome sync (chrome.storage.sync, tied to your Google account) also carries lesson IDs with dates, the IDs of items you hid, and your settings. No titles, names, grades or schedules are synced. You can turn sync off in Settings.
What it sends. Nothing. The extension makes no network connections except to the school sites it reads, and has no analytics. It never types into, changes or submits anything at school, and never reads or stores passwords. The Send feedback link opens this website’s feedback page only when you click it.
Students’ information. School Day is used by parents and learning coaches, not students. Student information it reads stays in the parent’s browser and is used only to show the parent’s own dashboard. It isn’t sold, shared, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
Removing it. Uninstalling the extension deletes its local storage. To remove synced data too, turn off sync in Settings before uninstalling, or clear the extension’s data in Chrome.
This website
Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how people use schooldayhq.com: pages viewed, clicks, how far you scroll, which video you watch, errors, page speed, and recordings of sessions with everything typed into forms hidden. PostHog also sees your browser, device, approximate location from your IP address, and the site that referred you. This helps us decide what to build and fix.
Forms. When you request a beta spot or send feedback, what you type is emailed to us (through Resend) so a person can read and reply. If you give your email, we link your website visits to it in PostHog so we can see how beta families found us. We use your email only to talk to you about School Day.
We don’t sell your information, show ads, or share it except with the services above that run the site (Vercel for hosting, PostHog for analytics, Resend for email).
Your choices
- Block or clear this site’s cookies, or use a browser setting or extension that blocks analytics.
- Ask us to delete what you sent through a form, or your analytics profile, through the feedback page or by replying to any email from us.
- Remove the extension any time from Chrome’s extensions page.
Not the school
School Day is an independent helper for families. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any school or learning platform, and it doesn’t record attendance or create any school record.
Changes
If this changes, we’ll update this page and the date above, and tell beta families by email about anything significant.
